Morning Worship Run

“But I cry to you for help, LORD; in the morning my prayer comes before you.” -Psalm 88:13

“The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.” -Psalm 6:8

“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” -Psalm 59:16

“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” -Psalm 90:14

The Lord captivates me with His beauty and stillness during my morning runs. I have been praying for a different person or reflecting on different characteristics of God for each mile during a long run. This has changed my focus of me only listening to my body and how I feel (tired, cramping,…) and shifted my focus onto others for a mile at a time. I have really loved this practice  and I encourage you to try it.

Prayers:

Mile 1: Husband

Mile 2: Sister moving to Alaska

Mile 3: Running Partner

Mile 4: High School Girls individually

Mile 5: Thankful for heathly body to be able to run

I have also been downloading podcasts and that has helped me change my focus from my not-so-Christian music but run worthy beats to contempling what the Lord wants me to get out of my run and this time that I have set aside to train. I worked with Breakaway Ministries while I was at Texas A&M and love to follow what the Lord is doing with 10,000 students in the basketball arena on Tuesday nights in College Station. Ben Stuart is incredible, hilarious, and always makes me laugh out loud on my runs. Check out the podcasts, you will be blessed.
